Garyr1016
I'll keep the 1940 Buick 4dr a 6 volt system, but I would like to get a reasonable quality 6 to 12 volt converter to run a CD player(which I will hide from view). Any suppliers out there? Thanks,Gary
Guest imported_JPIndusi
Radio Shack used to market one that I have which I have used to play a 12 volt AM/FM/Casette radio in my 48 Special Sedanet. The Old Guy tells me he bought 2 several years ago from JC Whitney. I am pretty sure that Radio Shack no longer markets one, probably due to lack of demand. I would try JC Whitney. One other option is to buy a copy of NUTS AND VOLTS, an electronics hobby magazine, and send in a question for help for either a supplier or a circuit you can build if you have some electronics skills. I am going to try to reverse engineer a copy of my Radio Shack unit for personal use.Wish I could be sure of a supplier, but that's all I know now.Joe, BCA 33493

Guest
Almost any electronic supply place can get you an "inverter". All you need to do is tell them the input voltage, the output voltage and the amps you want. Here in Victoria there are at least ten suppliers that can order one in.
