Where is a good source to find options that were offered on the 56 Clippers? I don,t have a dealer's salesmen hand book which would have such information, and I would like to have this in my Packard library but the last one sold on EBAY for 700.00 dollars!! I would rather put that amount of money in upgrades and repairs.any help would be great, thanks Joe

I'm right here - busy planning the next issue of TPC. It features articles on Charles Vincent (Manager of the Packard Proving Grounds), a 1956 Caribbean restored in the 1980s by the original owner, a 1916 Twin Six built for Gen. Pershing, a selection of 1912 trucks and the (proposed) Packard / AMC merger. It will be in the mail about 30 days from now. Enjoy! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Brain, Bill Pressler and I went to the Crawford Auto-avation musem in Dec.04 and spent about 4 hours in the library of course I asked for information on 56 Packard ,and was not really impressed with what they had. I happened to find more infomation on diffrent years of Studebakers. If I get a chance maybe I might find some thing at the Packard musem in Warren, I have e-mail them in the past with a few questions, but they have yet to answer my questions. BTW I was impressed by the amount of information that is available for auto enthusiasts at the Crawford musem if you get a chance its worth the trip, and you get to see a lot of great cars. thanks again Joe

Joe, I have a '56 salesman's book which lists options, and a small (original) pamphlet of 1956 accessories. If I get a chance, I'll scan the pages. Years ago we had a guy in our local PAC chapter with a very nice '55 400. He went on a rampage buying everything in that pamphlet and fastening it to his car. It was truly what the bikers call a "full dress garbage can". He called the accessories "Niffy-naps", which to this day makes me cringe. John
