chevydaughter
I am doing some digging for my father to find out what I can about his unique 1954 chevy pick-up. It is a 3600 and the unique thing is that it is 4WD. He was told that only 50 of these were made and they were a special order for an Indian reservation. Can anyone give me information or tell me where I can look to verify this? Thank you!!!! 1937hd45
Marmon-Herrington offered a 4WD conversion for Fords in this era, it may have done the same for Chevrolet.
Guest De Soto Frank
Most of the Chevy four-wheel-drives prior to 1966 were NAPCO systems, although Marmon-Herrington may have done some on special order. If the AACA Library can't help, perhaps the following sites might provide some info:"The Stovebolt Page" ( www.stovebolt.com ), which is dedicated to old Chevy trucks"The Vintage Chevrolet Club" ( http://vccahat.org ), which is the on-line forum for the Vintage Chevrolet Club.I can't give you specifics about your truck, but 4WD Chevy trucks prior to 1955 are pretty rare... By the way, my first "antique" was my grandfather's '54 Chevy model 3600 pick-up (two-wheel drive, alas), so this particular truck is special to me...Good luck ! chevydaughter
Thank you for your help! My dad's truck does say Napco on it, so I'll start with that! Much appreciate it!
