68_Sat
I own a 1968 Plymouth Satellite with a #s matching 383 big block from the factory. The motor is the same as in the 68 Roadrunner (high flow heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, and cam). I've been told that this is a very rare car as nearly all others came with the standard 318 in the satellite model. A search of the internet has kind of confermed this as I could not find one other Satellite (regular not Sport Satellite) with a factory 383 HP. Now to my question... Does anyone out there have any production numbers for this year Satellite including engine specs? Or, do you know if this is indeed a rare car? Thanks
Guest AlK
Pick up a copy of MOPAR COLLECTORS GUIDE, available at most news stands and look for the column by Galen Govier. You can write to hime and give him you vin # and he will give the chapter and verse on it along with production numbers.
pa67smith
Uh before you do that, why don't you check the engine block yourself and see if it really is a 383 Magnum? Look at the engine stamp pad and tell me what you see stamped there. Also have a peek at the block for a VIN number and see if it matches. Hemiragtop
As mentioned above Galen sells the "White Books" that list production figures of each model, I have the books but I can't seem to find them. Remember "Rare" & "Desirable" are two different things!! What other options does it have and what color?
