Rodding a 40's Roadmaster questions

I have just acquired my 47 roadmaster and have not yet decided to restore or rod. Has anyone out there rodded a similiar car? What type of frame modifications did you do? I know fatman's has a frame clip but I am still concerned about the wisdom of using a Mustang Rack on a 4500 pound car. If the rod thing happens I am planning to use a Buick 455. Also any comments on what would make a good rearend swap? I would like to stay all Buick as much as possible and for sure all G.M. Thanks in advance for any insights. replies to post, personal messages or email by adding @yahoo.com to my username are all fine by me.

Hello

There is a Buick Street Rod Club, that has some excellent cars and several 46-47-48 Buick street rods. BUICK STREET ROD ASSOCIATION, 824 KAY CIRCLE, CHATTANOOGA, TN. 37421-4218. There are several cars like yours with the same as your ideas. Lots of pictures, for sale and wanted sections. $ 25.00 per year .
