seasand77
Recently purchased 1969 442 original steering wheel was replaced with a 70 or 71 sport wheel. The wheel needs to be repositioned to correct horizontal position, and occasionally the horn beeps when I put on the right turn signal. How is the wheel removed? Thanks
Guest imported_starfire
Pull off the center cap. There may or may not be a "c" clip on the stud under the center cap. If there is, remove it with a small screwdriver. Remove the nut on the stud. The wheel is held on by a press fit. I have heard of people able to just give it a good tug and it comes off, but I've never had any success with this method. If you don't have one, go up to the auto parts store and buy a steering wheel puller. It takes the steering wheel off. Should come with full directions.
