Guest
I am installing the distributor in an Olds 455 in my boat. The Cutlass manual I have is vague on this and all subjects. If anyone has ever put a distributor in an Olds 455 before I could sure use your help. All I need to know is if there are any spacers, washers, star washers or nothing that goes on the oil drive shaft in between the engine boss and the distributor. Sgt Art
I've done it and it's no different than a small block Olds engine, in fact they used the same distributor. It's pretty straight forward, there's a hex shaped drive rod for the oil pump that fits into the bottom of the cam drive gear. One circular gasket fits between the top of the dist housing and the engine block. It's held in place with one bolt and clamp.
