Guest
Hi i'm new here and i have a question and a little help. i have a 1986 Olds 442 that i put a 403 in and its not running where i want it to be. i was told by a buddy that if i changed the heads to somthing older like 71 350 heads that it would add around 75 to 100 horse more. anyone agree with this and is there any one here that is selling somthing like that? any help would be great. thanks................ rocketraider
Doubt you'd see that much increase off 1971 vintage heads as they were the first year for reduced compression. Look for a set of #5, #6 or #7 heads. Used 68-72. You'll have to get the head bolt holes reamed for the 403's 1/2" head bolts.Visit www.442.com or www.realoldspower.com for good Olds engine advice and parts. Those guys have been there, done that.
