You probably have a relatively low "numeric gear ratio", for fuel economy in the 1976 Limited.If you are wanting the engine to make more turns per mile for acceleration that is a "higher numeric gear ratio", unfortunately also referred to as lower gears.It appears for 1976 the differential in B-body Buicks were converted over to the "corporate" 8 1/2 inch 10 bolt units. If this is the case you can buy the posi-traction carrier and gear sets from a number of sources. George Nenadovich with the Skylark Drive Chapter has a lot of information on this subject.
