16v engine parts, gaskets, etc..

I am new to this forum. Karleen asked me to post these parts I have for sale. I sent an email out to the members on the Masi 16v mailing list I run. Here is a copy of that email:

I am proud to announce that I now have ARP head studs available for the 2.2L Maserati 16v engine. Before I commit to the $3,500 buy in on these things I would like to see a show of hands as to how many of you are interested in purchasing a set. These fasteners are regarded by most race teams as the best (highest quality) fasteners on the market. They provide fasteners for NASCAR, Indy, Formula One, CART, etc..

These fasteners are heat treated to 190,000psi. According to the info they sent me, these fasteners far exceed the standards set forth by the aircraft industry. They come with the special washers and nuts to fit the Maserati's tight clearances inside the cylinder head casting. In terms of clamping force (and more specifically providing an *even* clamping force across the entire head-to-block surface), there is nothing that even comes close.

In addition, I am having special head gaskets made up for these motors as I mentioned in a previous post. I contacted Cometic (the company making them for me) and they said the first batch of 10 gaskets should be ready by end of week. When combined as a package, the MLS (Multi-Layer-Steel) gasket along with the ARP head studs will ensure an ultra tight combustion area. This is critical if you plan on running anything over 15psi of boost. (according to their data). I have been lucky enough to get away with running over 15psi on the stock gasket and bolts so far, but I *have* had one head gasket fail on me, and have heard of a few others. That along with the fact that the stock gaskets are not even any longer available and the stock head bolts are over $40 a piece, something needed to be done.

I figured since we had to have new head gaskets and bolts made up, might as well go for the gusto and upgrade them to the best the market has to offer in 2004.

If anyone is interested in purchasing a set of these studs, and/or the head gaskets please let me know ASAP. I should have 10 head gaskets here by middle of next week. The head studs are pending my order.

Lastly, if anyone is looking for stock head bolts I do have those as well, available new. I think I have like 100 bolts left at the moment. I highly recommend the studs though, especially if you are planning on running anything over stock boost levels.

I am making the stud kits available for $120/set. That is for a set of 10 studs. (10 required per application) The head gaskets are $85 each and will be available middle of next week for shipping. Stock head bolts are available for $200/set and again they are brand new, Mopar bolts.

Additional parts:

I also have 16v exhaust manifold gaskets and intake gaskets available as well. The exhaust gaskets are $15 each (4 required per vehicle) and the intake gaskets are $35 each (two required). I also have the turbo to exhaust manifold gaskets which are $8 each.

I have a couple valve cover gaskets available....some are new and some are VERY lightly used. Prices vary, they are not cheap.

I also have some new timing belts in stock. These are brand new Mopar belts. Price is $85 each.

Also, brand new timing belt tensioner pulleys. These are brand new Mopar tensioners. $150 each. Have only 3 left.

Also, valve cover grommet hold-downs with chrome washers. These are OE Mopar parts as well. $50/set. I believe there are 7 per cover if memory serves me.

I also have brand new Spark Plug wire sets in stock for the 16v Mas engine as well. Price is $145/set + shipping. I have 4 sets on the shelf at the moment. I also still have titanium valve spring retainers for this engine as well. $180/set + shipping for the set of 16. These are approx half the weight of the stock pieces!

Also, I still have some dealer factory training videos left. They cover the 16v engine including all technical info you need (or your machine shop needs) to properly assemble this rare engine. Email for pricing. rick@ceo-consulting.com

Lastly, Cam Seals. In stock. About 15 left. I forget the price on those at the moment, drop me an email if interested.

I think that about covers it. Anyhow, let me know who is interested in these head studs ASAP.

Regards,

Rick D.

Welcome to the TC forum Mr. D., your name seems somehow familiar

I will commit to a set of studs and possibly one of your lightly used valve cover gaskets, mine seems to be a bit weepy on the 'new' project TC. Furthermore, I applaud your efforts to keep some of the rare parts available (at considerable expense it appears) to the enthusiastic Maserati TC owners who like to tune their cars for just a bit more power
