Jolly_John Posted October 21, 2003 Share Posted October 21, 2003 Hi, Gang. I'm having an awful time coming up with a color match for 1939 Buick Rainier Blue. This is a dark, dark blue, with maybe a hint of purple. It is so dark that is some light it actually looks almost black. Has anyone worked with this color, and come up with either a good match....or a more modern color interchange from another car? I appreciate all help on this one, but please don't just tell me that a good auto paint store ought to be able to match it!! I've tried two of the best suppliers in our state, and neither place could hit Rainier Blue. Any ideas or sources?? NEW1966 Posted October 21, 2003 Share Posted October 21, 2003 Hi John. We had a 39 Century Coupe that was Ranier Blue. We also had a 66 GS Convert that was light blue. Thought it would look great Ranier Blue. Tried every place & everything. The best we could do was P & L paint on Morgan St. in Rfd, Ill. Close but no cigar. Try the new "Sunfire" paints.
