kenbourque
When I sent my engine to be rebuilt, the machine shop returned it without the brass primer cups in the head. They claim they weren't there when they received the engine _ too bad for me! I now need 4 of them. Any one have extras for a 1919 4 cylinder <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />?
Jan Arnett
Are they brass or steel?Jan
kenbourque
The ones on the head were brass, but I'm not fussy at this time. If the steel one fit, I can use them. What do you have and how many? Also what price?
JB-ed
Restoration Supply sells brass new ones @ $14.70 each to fit 1/8 pipe plug. Fairly high price but there they are:restoration@rsc.reno.nv.usYou can also plug the holes with pipe plugs until you get good used ones.
Guest imported_RAH
Ken, The brass cast priming cups were used only on '15 / '16. By '17 they were a inverted tapred cone cast steel affair with a little brass lever sticking out of the top that served as a valve. By '19 they were again redesigned to a cylindrical stamped cup type with a steel bent rod type lever sticking out the top. Priming cups were eliminated by late '22. So much for the description, sorry I cannot help more with a source of the correct type. Perhaps one of the vendors listed in the DBC News may have these?
