Guest Curt Fouse
I have my 30 model 57 just about all painted. Wood has all been replaced. I got the car years ago disassembled. I am sure having never seen it in one piece, I will have questions as I continue with it. Right now I need to know about the split rims. Were they painted? what color? Other cars that I have worked on had the rims cad plated, but there is no sign of any plating on these. I could use a buddy that has a 1930 B that has E-Mail capability, and maybe time to answer a question now and then. Thanks in advance. Guest
join the '30 group below.my '30 was wire wheels, painted.most people chrome the split ring, so it dose not chip when you change the tire.if it's wood, it's not painted. but, some people paint it to match the body. Fred Rawling
Remember if you plate the retainer ring on wire wheels, you have to have them baked after plating to prevent hydrogen embritelment which could cause the ring to break.
