WillBilly53
how strong are these lead soldering kits that you can get from eastwood co. is primarily for minor repair lik little holes in the floor and small dents? can it be used to "weld" patch panels?also i'm having the worst trouble removing the drivers side rear coil spring. i've got the top bolt out, but the bottom just turns along with that plate that holds it in place. and i can't figure out a way to securely clamp down on the plate to unscrew the bolt. it's driving me mad. i've got loose a little ways so i know i'm turning in the right directions but it just came to a point that said "nuh-uh, no can do anymore, bud" does anybod make those replacements plates or what ever they're called. i was thinking of just cut through that and the bolt to get it out.thanks in advance! 37sedan_mod47
The lead/solder is used as a filler instead of bondo, fiberglass, or whatever you want to call it. You should still weld, spot weld, or braze the patch or repair panel in place for strength.
WillBilly53
thanks,i figured doing actual welding would provide more strength. thanks!
