Dominic_Martinelli Posted June 27, 2003 Share Posted June 27, 2003 hello all.The other day I'm filling up the radiator to get the car ready to start up for the first time in 2 years. The water reached the top of the water pump/bottom of water manifold, it leaked! I installed a new o-ring but I guess it was the wrong type. So I went back to the auto parts store...that was an experience. I'll spare you all the details, but after finally finding parts listings for the 364 Buick motor, there is no listing for an o-ring of any kind. Am I looking for the wrong part? palbuick Posted June 27, 2003 Share Posted June 27, 2003 HIchecking my parts bookl it list the "0" ring for all V 8 from 1953 thru 1966 as the same part number. And only one is used. I had same problem, but found it was the thermostat gasket. It is the "O" ring for the water manifold. Buy several ones, to keep a space. The gentleman answering the phone told me to use vasiline and set it in the water pump houseing, not over the end of the manifold itself.
