Carlton
Good afternoon I can’t find in the Service manual, the main bolts and connecting rods bolts torque specs for my 1924 Lincoln L. I would really apreciate any info/help regarding this matter. Thank you very much. Regards Carlton
charlespetty
The Lincoln service manual doesn't quote torque values. Here are two discussions on mains torque values from the Lincoln Owner's Club forum.
Carlton
Thanks to Brian Harlamoff from CA that provide the Torque specs received from his Lincoln mechanic. Mains: 55 ft lbs Split connecting rods (4 small bolts): 20 ft lbs Single connecting rods (2 bolts): 30-35 ft lbs Cylinder head nuts: 40-45 ft lbs. Cylinder head nuts must be clean. You not let the nuts ‘bottom out’ on studs that are too long. Reproduction cylinder head nuts are not threaded as deep as the original nuts.
