Steve Braverman
Who are the Columbia axle experts? This is supposedly from an Auburn V12, but was adapted many decades ago to fit a 1932 Franklin. The spring perches, and shock mounts have been moved to fit the Franklin. It has Franklin brakes. I plan to reinstall it into my 1932 Franklin. It had been setup to shift manually using a lever on the floor. I crawled under an Auburn 12 at Hershey and saw a bunch of hoses connected to the axle and a switch on the dash to shift it. What are my options for a clean, reliable install into my Franklin? I would also like to find any info regarding servicing and maintenance on this. Curti
Both Auburn and Franklin used those Columbia two speeds. I an a Auburn guy, I can see the spring purches are missing on the axel housing. I do not know how Franklin mounted the axel to the rear springs.
