BQUICK1 Posted April 18, 2003 Share Posted April 18, 2003 Just had the upper and lower column bearings replaced and the wheel still wobbles. He tightened the tilt screws too. He also said it looks like someone had messed with it before!Any ideas? Dales90 Posted April 18, 2003 Share Posted April 18, 2003 I don't know the correct part names, but with help from this board, I reconnected a fully loose column on my 90 coupe. The connection which is inside the clear plastic tube is a slip-fit connection. There is a small spring steel clip which provides tension and makes the shaft fit tightly in the spline. If yours is missing, which can happen if someone had been in there before, there is enough play to be felt.
