It looks like a spring that just fits over the brake lines and runs the length of them, to protect them. I'm not sure if it is original or not, but it was on the 1930 Chrysler Roadster and it sure is old. I've tried cleaning it, however given the amount of crud on it I suspect I'll spend more on cleaning than on replacing, assuming it is still available.RichPS: Got some more of the brake fittings I needed in today, another day or two and it should all be here! I'm replacing everything including the wheel cylinders, lines, flexible lines, master cylinder, return springs and linings. Decided to go all out for safety. They do have the pieces parts though.I have found that the 'armor' is marketed under several names:Gravel GuardSpring wrapArmorguardAs well as possibly others.
