philipj
I am contemplating purchasing a 35 Olds L35 and have a question regarding the intake and exhaust manifolds... I am told that the vehicle has no exhaust leaks, but looking at the photo it makes me think that there may be a very small leak, or there was a leak at some point... Also visible is a piece of wire holding the bypass valve open, other than that, some minor issues with the vacuum and fuel lines looking a little untidy... No big deal. The main concern are the manifolds. There is also a rectangular piece of stock held by two bolts that does not appear to be part of the original casting... Possibly a repair? In terms of fitment, will a 1937 or 1938 8 cylinder manifold work on a 1935 model? I understand that 35-36 Olds are the same as 34-36 LaSalle and that is it! What about the other straight eights from the period and 50's Pontiacs for example... Can they be fitted if you modify the exhaust downpipe?
