Crusty Trucker
How long would a car remain in that condition if consigned to a museum or became a part of a big-bucks static private collection? Might its value stagnate (not necessarily fall) and only grow due to inflation? Would these parts/systems deteriorate, and to what extent? Upholstery and top shrinkage? Tires drying out? Seals? Electric/hydraulic top mechanism? Engine and transmission problems. Other things???
Brooklyn Beer
Looks like my mothers car. My father also had a 57 belair hardtop in black when they were dating in 1960. In 1962 they were both traded in on a 62 Plymouth wagon as my older brother was on the way and they needed something "practical". Now the plymouth I am told was a 2 door model but can't find any pictures of it in the family album. Hers was white but nothing on the interior. JamesR
Pretty car. Thanks for posting. I would guess that one of the most underrepresented cars on the "not mine" forum would be the high end '57 Chevy (convert., Nomad, Bel Air, etc. restored top a high level.) Of course, when I say underrepresented, I mean in relation to that car's iconic cultural status. A person who isn't into old cars might be surprised at how uncommon nice '57 Chevies are on the AACA's "not mine" sales forum (and several other forums on this site.) Just an observation.
