56 Buickboy
Can anyone help in supplying a set of J-bars for the rear bumper on a 1956 Buick Special. It doesn't matter if they need re chroming but reasonable condition preferred. Thanks.

Guest
CARS, Inc. does not have those--not the last time I needed some. There was a fellow in California who made reproductions out of brass, and then got them chrome plated. Last time I saw them advertised was in the Buick Bugle in the mid-1990s. These are very vulnerable pieces, and if you find a car in a salvage yard that has them, chances are they will be dented or rusted out, or both! Not all '56 Buicks have these on their rear bumper (my '56 Special does not have them). If you cannot find any, my suggestion is to remove them, braze or fill the holes in your bumper where they attach, and then get your rear bumper replated.Pete Phillips, BCA #7338Ector, Texas1950 Special 46-S1953 Roadmaster 72-R1956 Special 46-R1975 LeSabre conv.
