wattslm
I have an early engine with A5 stamped on the left side of the block above the carb. It has the dogleg carb and large starter/gen. This seems like a strange number. Anybody know the significance of the "A"? And is it realy eng. no. 5?
Guest imported_tonymaddux
Larry,I believe Dodge Brothers used the letter A to signify one million, so your engine may be one million and 5.
wattslm
Actually, I was just shown last week that the serial numbers on the early engines was stamped on the top edge of the block appendage that supports the starter/generator and I found it there. I still don't know what the A5 represents, though.
