For sale is a privately owned 1960 Ford Edsel Ranger, 2dr sedan with the original Sahara Beige paint (body) & Polar White (roof), Gold Vinyl & Brown Pebble Cloth Trim (interior) and only 78,104 original miles!
This antique is a 100% complete turnkey, ran weekly to keep fresh, recently serviced and must have for any car collector. Please note, this is not a showroom car, but a great project car for the restoration enthusiast. With some work and fresh paint job, you could have a beautiful piece of Ford history.
I am the 2nd owner since purchased in 2012 in PA, clean title in-hand, original mileage status, garage kept/covered, 1 set of keys, non-smoker and no pets.
The body and frame are straight, no accidents, dents or dings. Paint has attempted to have been repaired by previous owner in multiple locations, also has minor chips and peeling in certain areas. There’s minor surface rust on the undercarriage and minor rot on the bottom corner of driver’s side door and 2 small rot spots in the trunk. Passenger side door has had previous body work done and paint repair. Frame, door jambs, floor pans, rocker panels and chrome are all original and solid. Comes with original wheel cover/skirts which are not currently installed.
Interior is original and in pretty good condition with a ripped seam on the top of the rear seat, damaged drivers side arm rest, minor cracks on front and rear dashes. Original headliner is in great condition, carpeting is good, all original stamped Ford glass, doors and windows operate, lock and seal perfectly. Factory radio is present but not hooked up, front antenna removed by previous owner and reinstalled on rear right side of car. Aftermarket stereo and rear pioneer speakers were also installed by previously owner.
The factory 292ci V8 engine has recently been serviced and the following work performed (have all receipts): new gas tank, hoses, fuel lines, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor and cap, stainless oil breather, radiator fan, fuel pump, battery, belts, hoses, air filter, neutral safety switch, fresh oil change, carb adjusted, new wiper arms and blades. Brakes were rebuilt with new wheel cylinders, brake lines, brake springs, brake pads, master cylinder, brake fluid flush and refill. Factory automatic transmission shifts smooth with no issues. Exhaust has been replaced from headers back and aftermarket mufflers installed. There is a minor exhaust leak on right exhaust manifold.
All gauges, electrical and mechanical components work except for rear brake lights, map light, heater fan motor, cig lighter and clock.
P225/17/R14 white wall tires with good thread, factory rear hub caps / front from different year. Front tires have minor dry rot on sidewalls and will eventually need to be replaced.
Car has original chrome, jack, spare tire, lug wrench, id plates and badges, except for “Edsel” badge on both rear quarter panels.
