Guest
I am looking for a Dodge Brothers "Master Parts Book" I know from time to time Romar has them but they are out right now (I am on the waiting list). I am restoring a '22 Touring and writing down all of the part numbers I come across but I would like to check things before I clean them up, refinish and put them on. Any help would be appreciated. Reach me here or California, 831-455-2749. also at sassy55@juno.com Thanks in advance
Guest leadfoot
In the past few months two Master Parts Manuals have been auctioned on e-bay. While I think these books are good to have, I've had much more luck with my late 22 production car by having a usuable Owner's Manual, the repro 1927 Mechanics Book and a lot of appropriate back issues of the DB Club News + my entire set of Skinned Knuckles magazine. If you really think you need the Parts Manual, borrow it from a nearby DB Club member.
Guest
Yup those are good, but I have a bunch of parts and I want to make sure that I put the right ones on the car. What a neat position to be in!
Guest leadfoot
Hey Tommy -From one who's been there . . . trying to accurately identify and match parts in your hand with the pictures in the Master Parts Manual only will mislead you. Most of components have multiple parts numbers, but the pictures usually only have one item shown. And most of the parts listed don't have pictures. Also, parts, except for major components, don't have the numbers on them in most cases. The only exception that I can think of is the NorthEast section, where photos match the items closely. Jan Arnett
Tommy: You didn't say whether you were trying to identify mechanical parts or body parts. Remember that on body parts you need to also take into account body style and on mechanical the same parts were used across many years. Not so simple. How complete is the car?
Guest
Jan,It is a touring and all apart now. It was a complete rust bucket when I got it and had a lot of extra parts tossed in. I am slowly cleaning, repairing, polishing, painting etc. each thing I come across as I build it back up. This is what I call fun Also to all, I have located a vendor for the book and made arrangements for the purchase. I have to praise all for the rapid, helpful, and enthusiastic response to my inquiry!
