37 Super Eight release bearing

Gentlemen, my release bearing stated making some noise lately. I took a look at it and found what appears to be an oil or grease line that terminates at the bell housing with a fitting mounted there. My question is what lubricant should I use?

The fitting doesn't look like a grease nipple but it could have been changed. The manual is vague and says heavy oil for the clutch, does that sound right?
