Saginaw full syncro OD trans $1800 (Healdsburg) Story you typically hear with a car, not a single part

Saginaw 4 speed R10 Overdrive Transmission - $900 (healdsburg / windsor)

 

This belonged to my dad whom I never knew because he died in a car accident when I was 3 (1972). I've been told he owned a "57 Chevy" and was making it into a hot rod. So it would make sense that this was intended for that car. This means it was sitting in his shop space (my grandfathers house) for over 53 years. I found it in 2018 when we sold the house.

I'm not going to open it up because everything moves very smoothly. It was kept dry and is very clean. It has a Hurst performance shifter attached and the electronics that come with the Borg Warner R10 Overdrive.

I'm asking $1,800 but willing to consider reasonable offers. No emails please text or call.

Not Mine. I included it because this is the type of story you hear when somebody is trying to sell an entire car not a single part. ( $900 or $1800 the price seems high to me) 

FYI it is missing the solenoid. . . . .

Very high for an iron Saginaw.

This is a $200 trans at best, if you can even find a buyer for it.

The market is full of Muncie and Borg Warner 4 speeds which are far more desirable.
