The Old Guy
Buick offered a GS in 97. It was a regal with the supercharged 3800 from the Ultra and riv . They are still offered in 2001 I think. They did some suspension work and put on bigger tires and wheels.
YellowLark
This doesn't sound like a typical Regal GS.
Stage 1 badging ? one of two? 70 hp over instead of 35? That's a lot of claims.
Let's see what the pictures show...
Guest
While in Carlisle PA this paast week I saw a 1997 Buick with some interesting Labels and plate discriptions. I located the owner (Adam Rabinowitz) and he claims the car is a factory GS and one of two in existence. The Vin # 1G4GD2211V47072 has A different grille, GS off centre, Grand sport on l rear side of front quarters, and a sta6e 1 license plate. Engine has a claimed 70 hp output over factory offering. I could not see any non factory mods to this car. I took numerous photos and I will post as soon as I can. Has anyone heard of this possible car?????
Robin
The Old Guy
Robins post stated that tha car had a stage 1 license plate ,and you can order them from your sec of state. I believe the GS was rated 70 HP over the standard Regal ,as it was supercharged
Guest
I've never heard of a stage 1 97. The 97+ GSes put out 240 hp, and 280 ft/lbs of torque.
I am a reguler over at ClubGP (Grand Prixes, and GSes are basicly the same car) and would have to say the guy is BSing.
Though it is pretty easy to add power to one while looking pretty stock.
Rob
Coppersmith www.RivMan.com
95 Riviera
66 Special
Guest
It is very possible that he has a Stage 1 Throttle Body/MAF from Ram Air Tech and is proud of it.
YellowLark
I believe that the Regal GS at 240 hp is 35 hp over the regular 205 hp Regal.
The 170 hp (70 less than the Regal GS) engine is standard in the Century.
Of course, I could be wrong...
