poncho
I see that Fastchip.com offers a chip for 89 3.8L Buick, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile V6's. Are the engines in the pontiacs and oldsmobiles the same as the ones in our Reattas? In other words, can these chips be used in our cars?

poncho
Did you also install a high flow intake and high flow exhaust system at the same time? Most of the performance chips require this to attain a gain in performance.
2seater
I've had one in my '90 for three years now. The best results are with other modifications as well. By itself, they do a little for the top end but everyday driving is essentially controlled by the sensors. Full throttle is where they can make a small difference, as to is it worth the price??? There was a thread a short time ago about this same subject and I believe you should do the other things first, such as a good cold air intake, open up the rear exhaust manifold, etc... Possibly remove the cat or install a high flow one if this is not feasible. Just for information purposes, I had the timing increased above the setting in the 91 octane Fastchip. I sent it back and had the cooling fan set point lowered at the same time as the timing increase. This does seem to help throttle response in normal driving although the stock chip and 87 octane works pretty well as it is. Only testing will tell you if you have really gained.
