Cokekid
I have a rear drum with a spring that is not attached like the one in the photo. The first thing I would like to know what purpose does this spring have do do with the drum . I also was wondering has anyone ever installed one of these on a drum. I set the spring down over the bottom of the drum and it shows there is going to be a lot of tension when I try to slide the spring over onto the drum. I welcome all suggestions. Russcc
The spring around the OD of the drum helps to reduce drum expansion from heat during hard braking, which reduces fade.
Cokekid
Russcc Appreciate the info on what they do. I still have not had a chance to try and install it. Will let you know what happens when I try to install it
Cokekid
My neighbor came over to help me to install the spring on the drum. We decided to install it as it were a tire like the good old days with a couple of crow bars. Went on much easier then I thought
