72 Electra or 76 Estate

I have several value guides, but was wanting some input. I may be buying a 1976 Buick Estate in VGC or a 1972 Buick Electra 4-door hardtop. I am a wagon fan, but like the style of the 72 and can't find a cheap (or local) 72 wagon. I know the 76 wagon is more rare, but does anyone think the wagon would be worth more or the sedan (hardtop 4-door)? Thanks.

I'm more partial to the '72. Its got a better engine, no crash bumpers and depending on where you live, no smog. No smog check that is wink.gif
Tomsriv
71 Riv

A '71 or '72 Estate Wagon would be great, but I agree with Tomsriv. Given the two cars in this instance ('72 Electra vs. '76 Estate), I'd choose the '72 Electra 225 hands down. These were excellent, beautifully-styled cars inside and out. My opinion is that the clean, attractive design introduced with the '71 models was compromised to accommodate the crash bumpers as the years progressed. I would stick with the '71 or '72.
