cvlawson
I just bought an early Buick that need a lot of work. I need to know what I have. The chassis tag is small and oval on the left side toward the front. It says 944362. The engine tag has 1016190. Not sure if it is original engine to this chassis or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1953mack
- The one millionth Buick built was built in March 1923. - Your Car (frame) Serial Number of 944362 is within the range for 1923 Buick C.S.Ns. - Reports show Buick built 181,000+ cars in 1923. - Engine Serial Numbers ran ahead of Car Serial Numbers. The difference of 71,828 more engines than cars in 19 years is reasonable (<4,000 per year average).
