73' Driver side door handle install

I was wondering if anyone could give some advice or instruction on the outer door handle install, while I have removed the door panel exterior  , it seems as though I will have to remove the entire door panel interior just to install the new door handle , is this true ?

I am not sure I understand what you are saying?

 

Do you mean you have removed the "door skin" when you say, "I have removed the door panel Exterior"? I am not sure why you would do that unless it was damaged, it should only be removed to re-skin the door. But, it does NOT get you to the bolts for the door handle.

 

YES, the interior panel has to come off to replace the outer door handle. It is bolted onto the skin from inside the door, and the linkages are accessed from inside the panel also.
