FS: RARE 1927 CHEVROLET RADIATOR/GRILLE Shaped Watch, Serviced,

Here's a VERY RARE Watch that was given out ONLY in 1927 for Used Car Sales for Chevrolet 

ALL ORIGINAL...NEW GLASS CRYSTAL CUT & INSTALLED DURING SERVICE... 

This watch is running fine. 

Swiss, six jewel, two adjustment movement has been serviced two weeks ago. 

It is a sales award for making quota in the 1927 used car sales campaign. The case measures 33mm top to bottom and 27mm side to side. 

Fixed Lugs..I Left the Strap that came with it on..Bought a new one, INCLUDED IN SALE if the New Owner wants to change it out. 

Searching the internet I found at the Bonhams auction in Carmel California August of 2008 where one like it sold for $4,320.00 inclusive of buyer's premium.  
Another on the Bay that isn't working correctly for $1700 plus..

Additional Info: 
1927 was the first year that Chevrolet sold more cars than Ford (Mostly Because Ford shut down their factory to Switch from building the Model T to the gear up for building the Model A. 

Not many of these around as they were NEVER available at a RETAIL Level, ONLY for Sales award and ONLY in 1927!!!

But remember, this watch is 92 YEARS OLD !!! 

Its not a NEWER Rolex or OMEGA, so if precision and daily wearability is required DON"T BOTHER BUYING THIS WATCH !!!

Well, your mention of the Bonhams auction and the different pricing ranges for similar watches really highlights the value and rarity of this piece. Now there is three of you?   Here is the rub, that watch is very cool.   The problem is it exists in a narrow narrow little market.   If you were selling the entire car you might have trouble getting 2300 for the entire car.  But you never know.

 

In any event, cool piece,   good luck selling.  Stop creating burner accounts to pump it.

I have a 1923 Chevrolet Basket case Superior, successor to the Chevrolet 490.

 

The joke at the time, was that 490 stood for how long that the rear axle took to break. 4 yards, or 90 seconds.

 

Hope the watch is a bit better?

 

Original poster seems legit. His new fan club? Still 10 days from a full moon, can't explain it.

You make a solid point about the Bonhams auction and how much history these watches hold. But let’s be real—some of them are way overpriced for what they are. It’s like the old Chevy joke about the 490; sometimes, you wonder how much you’re really getting for your money.
