mikzjr@aol.com Posted October 24, 2002 Share Posted October 24, 2002 front half of my brake shoe doesn't pivot should it, the rear half does pivot, even with the 4 small nuts and the one pivot nut in the middle loose the front half doen't pivot. before i pull the other wheel thought someone could answer this question. mikzjr@aol.com Posted October 25, 2002 Author Share Posted October 25, 2002 thanks for the reply so just the back half pivot but in the owners manual it tells you to loosen the middle bolt a 1/6" after you tighten it so the shoe can fit to the brake drum but the front half i can't get to pivot. were all 4 wheels the same only the back half pivots. The whole shoe should move, just not in a pivoting motion. Good brakes on these cars is a relative term, don't expect to stop very quickly.
