Ok71
Hey all my names Louie, im from Oklahoma and just bought a 71 riviera hence the name ok71! I created this account to get advice on restoring this awesome car! It’s a big project but I’m ready for the challenge! That being said I bought it with no motor or tranny so my first question is does anyone have advice or can point me in the direction of a LS swap kit that will work for me? Larry Schramm
Welcome to the forums. If you are looking to restore your vehicle to something close to the way it left the factory, this is the place. There are LOTS of persons that can help you with experience, knowledge, and even parts- where to get them or even have them in their inventory to help you with your project. If you are looking to put a SBC into your car, you might better look the guys on Buick V-8. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php They are the experts for Buick engine issues, etc. Not that that information is not here, but most of the persons here are in the original direction. Good luck on your endeavors. Edited April 1, 2019 by Larry Schramm (see edit history)
Ok71
Alright thanks! Any advice on where I might find some rear wheel arch panels? Mine are completely rusted. The only panels I seem to be able to find for boattails are floor pans. And quarter patch panels.
Larry Schramm
Louie, Go here https://forums.aaca.org/forum/12-buick-buysell/ and put in the title 71 Riviera 1/4 panels needed. Then go into the body and explain what you need. That will get you more visibility for parts than here. Also go down to the Riviera Owner group and post about yourself and the picture of your car. They are a real knowledgeable and helpful group also. https://forums.aaca.org/forum/73-buick-riviera-riviera-owners-association/ Larry Edited April 1, 2019 by Larry Schramm (see edit history) 1
