Guest
I have recently purchased a 1937 Buick Roadmaster 80C ID# 3079680. I am looking for history on this vehicle. It was an AACA Senior National First Prize Winner in 1988. I am also new to this forum. Can anyone help? Thank you. Majesty@Bellsouth.net
Peter J.Heizmann
TOYBIG...AACA publishes annually, a booklet that lists National Award Winners. They are listed by the Vehicle Year, Marque, Name of Owner, and, Year the car won.Without knowing the name of the previous owner, it is impossible to determine identification from the booklet. Please advise and we'll help you as best we can.Regards, Peter J. Guest
This 1937 Buick was previously owned by Chicago Vintage. They purchased it at The Auction in Los Vegas Nevada on 11-8-92. The principal of the Museum, Mr. Richard H. Driehaus, was shown to be the Purchaser. I have contacted them and they have no additional info. This is all the history, other than that it was an AACA winner in 1988. The medal is on the grill of the car.
Tom Deering
The 2001 edition of the "Winners Book" shows 2 '37 Buicks winning their First Junior in 1988. Both advanced to win the Senior Award in a subsequent show. The first Buick shows a woman owner who won in Murfreesboro, the second is owned by a man and it won in Duluth. There may be an identification number at the bottom of the grille plaque. That would be the number to use for reference if you should have correspondence with a judging official. The number does not appear in the "Winners Book". Tom
Guest
Checked Plate and found no numbers. These junior winners; Were they Model 80C Phaetons?
Tom Deering
There are no model numbers specified in the book. Both cars are in class 20D which is titled: Production Vehicles (excluding Ford) 1936 through 1937. It appears only Series 90 Buicks would be qualified for another class. You have captured one beautiful car. Congratulations! Tom
