Guest Posted October 12, 2002 Share Posted October 12, 2002 The 1-year-only starter solenoids for 1953 are getting hard to find and are very expensive, whereas a 54-55 is readily available at my local NAPA store. Will the complete starter fit a 53? Also it seems that 1953 rear u-joints are discontinued and not available anywhere. What about changing the end yoke off a 54 and later onto a 53, will that work? Guest Posted October 13, 2002 Share Posted October 13, 2002 I dont know about the starter part, perhaps someone else can answer that.On the U-joints, Kantner has them, albeit a bit pricy. The man there said yes they were discontinued about 18 months ago but they still had about 20 of them in stock plus some NOS pieces as well Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
