Guest
My starter/generator turns very slowly and you have to keep trying to start if at all. The unit gets very warm. Any ideas as I am new to Dodge, Overland is my car and I know all its problems.
Looking forward to some help.
Henry Noonan
Guest
Henry NoonanI am familiar with Dodges. It sounds to me like you have either a tired starter generator or you made the usual minor mistake of putting a 6 volt battery in the car. From 1914 to mid 1926 all Dodge Brothers cars were 12 volt. If it is tired it can be rebuilt at most generator shops. Being 12 volt the shop where I live just considered it no problem because it is very similar to a golf cart motor.Well I hope this helps.RAIOwner and driving dodge enthusiast.
Jan Arnett
Henry: I agree with everything that was said earlier but let me offer a suggestion to try first. Make sure that you ground cable is good and tight and clean. Take it loose from the frame and clean any rust or paint from the area where it is mounted. Se if this helps because it won't hurt.Lots of luck,Jan
