Frantz Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 So I bought a car with no keys... no big deal. I get new cylinders and keys and then realize that to put the new cylinders in I need the keys to lower a retaining pin... and see a pin on the old cylinders too.... Well trying not to destroy anything I figure I'll just pick the old cylinders... not a big deal on an old lock. Great! Well now that I did that it seems that perhaps the retaining pin is pressed in. So first, is that the case? Did the factory press or cast in the retaining pin? If so, how do I get/drill/anything it out without damaging the chrome trim piece? I don't have direct overhead access so anything I do will be at an angle and against the curve. Or am I missing something simple?
