Guest
Does anyone know where I can find a chart that shows the body and trim colors that match the numbers found on the cowl tag?
Who is a good paint (or color additive) supplier? I'm finding lots of good info on correct engine & frame paints but not lots on body or interior / vinyl colors. Also, has anyone had much success at restoring /re-painting sun baked dashes? If it's not scratched or broken it seems a waste to throw away the original just because it's a lighter shade....my conv. is a gold cutlass sup. with tan/gold/brown (?) interior. I'd like to keep the same color scheme.
rocketraider
My 74 parts book has the info. Post yer codes here and I'll decode them. It'll also be in the 1972 dealer Color & Fabric book, but I just got back from Spring Carlisle and the damn things are going for nearly $200 and the 70 is worse!
Any good paint supply jobber should be able to mix you a vinyl dye formula for your dash and other hard plastic parts. The key to restoring/repainting these is that they HAVE to be clean and free of silicone.
