geno Posted April 5, 2002 Share Posted April 5, 2002 My son's Grand Am (same platform as Alero)has 2 U shaped channel glued to the glass and they are attached to two plastic brackets on the regulator arms. On the driver side door the frount piece of crap plastic broke, the glass fell down causing the back channel to become unglued. This happened at 37000 and GM would not cover it. The SMART CHOICE extended warrenty would cover the regulator ($215) but not the $500 glass. So I told them to button it back up. I'm going to try and fine some in the salvage yard. Or if I could only get a hold of the right kind of adhesive for the glass I have the dumb Extend warrenty spring for the reg. This was his first new car purchase and he gave in to sales pressure and bought that stupid and over priced warranty. Thanks for letting me blow off.
