Lubing power brake booster

I've read that I should remove a plate on the side of the booster and put a few drops of ATF in there...I  can  get my hands on some marvel mystery oil for air tools that comes in a handy bottle that would make this job much easier.. Any thoughts on using this instead of ATF?

If the power piston doesn't come back up under it's own power, that's usually an indication it's gone dry. Just like all good things, you just need to wet and and then it'll be able to slip right in.

Plus it doesn't hurt to oil it every once in a while, whether it is working properly or not.

So I lubed the booster.. Not sure if I did it right..I  removed  the breather on the side and stuck a syringe into the hole and injected a small amount of ATF.. Hoping the lube went where it needed to go.. Seems to feel better we'll see

That should be it, the leather will wick. Just keep checking it and lubing it until the leather cup is not soaked, but not dry. It takes it a while to go all the way around if it's been sitting as I've found out.
