Guest David Kalayjian
Gentlemen; I just purchased a fully restored 70' GS 455 convertible, in Seamist Green. When I placed the car on a lift; I noticed that the bottom of the A/C condenser (looks like a thin radiator with the same width) is loose and wobbling front to back. Seems to be missing attachment clips on either side of the unit at the bottom extremities. I hope the attached photo helps to illustrate the problem. I called a couple of parts suppliers (Cars etc..), and they confirm that there is no repro part which is currently made. Any idea where I can find these. Do not want to start driving the car with the lower part of this unit flapping front to back…... Thank you in advance; David Edited March 16, 2017 by David Kalayjian Typo…. 61polara
It looks like someone has replaced the condenser with one that is about 2 inches or one coil loop short. I think it should rest in a u-shaped rubber support and sit on the radiator support, just like the radiator does. You could try to fabricate a rubber support and attach it to the bottom side brackets to stabilize it.
