gofasttoday
Is it possible to remove the water jacket cover without removing the exhaust manifold on a 1931 Buick?
Mark Shaw
Yes, as I recall, you just need to remove the machine screws in the cover. These covers tend to rust out and will require repair welding or sealing with JB Weld etc. I found a thin sheet of lead roofing patch material in my 31-57. gofasttoday
Thanks, but I went and pulled the intake and exhaust off and the exhaust manifold came in two peaces. You could see that it has been crack for some time. Some one in the past used the old gaskets and some rtv. Anyway I got the cover off and it looks good . I didn't find a lot of buildup around the cyl.
