motoringicons
This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Cameo Pickup was recently restored and has been driven less than 550 miles since completed. It is finished in what I believe to be an original color combination of Cardinal Red with Ivory trim and is fitted with power steering, power brakes and a heater. Originally a Kansas truck, close inspection shows no signs of rust damage. It is just as straight underneath as it is on the top. The former owner completed a very thorough nut and bolt restoration. The overall fit and finish is excellent. The paint is gorgeous and the two-tone matching interior still looks like new. For reliable highway driving, the rear end was fitted with a 3.38 ring and pinion and the truck rides on nearly new Coker radial tires. The proper 265 CID V-8 engine starts easily, idles well and makes plenty of power. The dual exhaust gives the engine a nice, mellow yet throaty sound. The three-speed transmission shifts smoothly. The steering and brakes are accurate and responsive. A retro-looking AM/FM/Ipod radio has been discreetly installed as well seat belts. The engine bay and chassis are clean and well detailed. This desirable truck looks and sits right from all angles. It is a reliable driver that is ready to use and enjoy. The price is 60,000.00 or near offers and it is located near Jefferson, WI. While looking on The Hamb, I see the 265 engine was available in '57. That year only, they were painted yellow. Painted yellow so the assembly line workers could tell them apart from the 283. Bet a lot of Chevy guys don't know that.?
