Guest Shapcars
The fuel gauge on my 66 cutlass goes past full every time I start her and goes to the correct (?) reading after a while. I filled her up last week and the gas gauge has remained pegged above full. Any ideas?
Guest wwayman
Probably a bad ground at the tank or sender unit. Can you get to the sender without dropping the tank?

Larry Schramm
Make sure the connection at the tank is good and clean. If the fuel gauge see an open/ high resistance circuit it would read full all of the time. Should be GAUGE-------Fuel tank sending unit------GROUND. Any break in the circuit between ground and gauge would register full. (Variable resistor)
