Guest cralph216
I have a 64 Rambler American 440 with the overhead valve inline 6. For what ever reason, no matter what we do to adjust the timing or carburetor the car will run for about 15-20 minutes before cutting out. Could it be vapor lock? What would cause that and how do you fix it? Thank you, Chris
Alfre
Does this happen when driving or sitting still? Quick fix if it happens all the time replace coil and condenser. Al
Guest cralph216
Thanks Al! I have had the coil replaced and the condenser was replaced with a pertronix unit. It happens when still and when running. The engine does seem to run hot, but the radiator never boils over. Chris
Guest cralph216
We think we found it. The float does not seem to return to position after bliping the throttle. it stays wide open
