48 Fluid drive,

 

Some time ago i was going thru some problems of the transmission shifting down when I came to a stop. since that time I changed from electronic ignition back to points & condensor..  I have gone thru all the electrical tests & from that point all seems well. I have checked the rpm & set it at 450 when the car is warm & sitting in forward gear.  When I take the car out it operates perfectly for about ten minuets but then it does not shift down when coming to a full stop. I have tried the kick down & that is working ok.  The only thing I haven't done is clean the governor points. If it is shifting down for the first ten min could that still be the governor in need of cleaning?? I would appreciate your comments
