This unit has a metal face plate that is attached to a ribbed, stainless steel outer ring. There is a wire ring that goes around the back of the assembly with a locking mechanism that tightens the whole assembly around the spare tire. This just came out of an old building. It looks like it could be New Old Stock, but I am not sure about that. The metal part has some surface rust and old, original paint. The stainless outer ring is very nice, just dirty. The locking/attaching mechanism works as it should. It measures about 30" overall outside diameter, the inner opening is 19" and it is about 5-5 1/2" thick. It would be great for 1930-31 Model As and other cars with narrow 19" tires. This could easily be restored or used as-is on an original car. I've never seen one like this before.
